Well, I've decided that is was time for a change so I switched from using Balsa for email to Sylpheed. Much nicer and faster. Besides, Sylpheed has support for GnuPG. Now I'm happy...

Finally got around to trying Dropline Gnome for Slackware. It's definitely purty but I don't like not being able to move the menu bar where I want it... I'll stick with my beloved WindowMaker for now although I'm beginning to like Blackbox more and more...

Mozilla.org's new standalone browser Phoenix seems pretty snappy. Much faster than the feature rich Mozilla. I really like Mozilla. I just wish it was a lot faster. The save file dialog takes forever to load...

A ports system for Slackware... hmmm, sounds like fun...!

Thursday September 19, 2002 1:43 AM EDT
...but that was yesterday, I had the world in my hands, but it's not the end of my world, just a slight change of plans. That was yesterday, but today life goes on, no more hiding in yesterday, cause yesterday's gone...

Wow, I'm not very good at posting regularly am I..? Going to a LAN party tomorrow. I'm not much of a gamer although I do enjoy a good Quake fragfest once in a while. I just go to hack around and exchange ideas...

Saw the movie "Takedown" the other night. It was an OK flick but somehow I get the impression that Mitnick was misrepresented. It just seemed a bit skewed...

Haven't posted in a while. I've been preparing for a move. I think I have to many books and computers.....

Tuesday July 30, 2002 12:24 AM EDT
Another fine edition of Phrack has been released. "It's a good thing".

Friday July 26, 2002 4:07 PM EDT
I just found out that the M*A*S*H second season DVD has just been released. I can't wait to get this one. The first season DVD was excellent... I'm still waiting on the Simpson's second season DVD as well as the first season of Futurama. Homer and Bender rule...!

Wow, it's been a while since I posted an entry here. I've been working on a hacked version of dblog that will allow users to post comments to my blog entries. You'll see it here when I'm finished...

Wednesday June 19, 2002 1:51 AM EDT
At last, Slackware 8.1 has been released. It's time to update the fleet... :-P

Saturday June 15, 2002 10:14 PM EDT
At last I am Windows free. I'm forging ahead with Slackware, OpenBSD, Solaris, and Redhat... and I'm not looking back...!

Sunday June 09, 2002 5:59 PM EDT
Just released dblog-0.3 and submitted it to Freshmeat. It will probably be posted sometime in the next few days. You can download it here.

Woohooo...! Mozilla 1.0 is here, and it is sweet. I'm drooling over tabbed browsing. No more multiple browser windows when viewing multiple sites. Damn, first it was OpenBSD 3.1, now Mozilla 1.0, and Slackware 8.1 is just right around the corner. This is going to be a great summer. Now if I can just find a job....

Well I've finished my shell script replacement for my current blogging client. In fact, I'm using my new script to write this entry. I call it dblog. I plan to post it on Freshmeat as soon as I clean it up and tweak it a bit. It's pretty crude but it works... It only requires Bash and ncftpput. They are usually installed by default on most Linux distributions...

OK, so I can't decide on a color scheme for the site. I've also been thinking about writing my own blogging app. The app I currently use has a tcllib dependancy I'd like to get away from. I should be able to whip something up in a shell script. Bash of course; Korn shell blows. ;-)

I was working with the GIMP today which led to some changes to the website. I think it looks much better...

Friday, May 24/2002 11:47 AM
Mozilla 1.0 RC3 is out... Can't wait for this one...

Friday, May 24/2002 11:43 AM
Just saw an article over at Slashdot about a Windows XP patch supposed to fix some bugs but to also "hide" some components like IE to make XP appear more modular for the end user. I guess if you can't win in court then hiding the incriminating evidence is the next best thing...

I'm really starting to get pissed off with this whole spam issue. Someone needs to start going after the damn morons that distribute it.

Friday, May 17/2002 09:49 AM
Only two more days until OpenBSD 3.1 gets released. I can't wait. I also thought about giving Debian a try if woody every gets released.

Friday, May 17/2002 12:47 AM
Another test post to make sure I got all the css stuff just right...

Thursday, May 16/2002 06:07 PM
Ok, so let's try an embedded link. The blogging utility I'm using is a slightly hacked version of tkBlog. I had to modify it to handle passive ftp transfers so it would play nice with my OpenBSD firewall.

Thursday, May 16/2002 05:49 PM
Just a test post to test some of my hacks to the utility that creates these entries...
